Everything you need to know about using SlugPost
Quick Start Guide
Get started with SlugPost in 5 simple steps:
- 1 Visit slugpost.com homepage
- 2 Paste your markdown content or upload a .md file
- 3 Choose a custom URL slug (e.g., "my-awesome-post")
- 4 Click "Publish Post"
- 5 Save your edit link! It's shown only once
Publishing Content
Two ways to publish your markdown:
- Paste: Copy and paste markdown directly
- Upload: Upload .md, .markdown, or .txt files
Slug Format: Only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens (e.g., my-post-2025)
Editing Posts
Use your unique edit link to update content:
⚠️ Important
The edit link is shown only once after publishing. Save it immediately in a secure place!
Format: slugpost.com/your-slug/edit/token
Lost your edit link? Register and claim the post to regain access.
Claiming Ownership
Register to claim your posts and get:
- Dashboard to manage all posts
- Edit without needing the edit link
- Author attribution on posts
- View statistics and analytics

Full markdown syntax supported:

Security & Privacy
Edit Token Security
Each post has a unique UUID token that acts as a password. Only those with the edit URL can modify content.
Best Practices:
- ✓ Save edit link in password manager
- ✓ Don't share edit link publicly
- ✓ Claim posts for permanent access
Privacy Policy
Anonymous posts store no personal information. Claimed posts only associate your name and email.
We Never:
- ✗ Sell your data
- ✗ Share with third parties
- ✗ Track without consent
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I lose my edit link?
If you lose your edit link and haven't claimed the post, you won't be able to edit it. However, you can register an account and claim the post using the edit link before you lose it, or contact support for assistance.
Can I delete a post?
Yes, you can delete posts from the edit page if you have the edit link, or from your dashboard if you've claimed the post.
Is there a limit on post length?
There's no strict limit, but we recommend keeping posts under 100,000 characters for optimal performance.
Can I use custom domains?
Custom domains are not currently supported, but all posts are accessible via slugpost.com/your-slug.
Is SlugPost open source?
Yes! SlugPost is completely open source. View the code and contribute on GitHub.
